The product, in perspective.
This one-component bitumen finish produces a silver-toned coating. It is used on exterior structural substrates and compatible existing bituminous coatings; confirm the previous coating before specifying an overcoat.
An aluminium-pigmented bituminous finish for specified exterior surfaces. The reflective aluminium appearance does not establish a temperature rating or suitability for a different specialist aluminium paint application.
Where it works.
The documented surface or use for Crown Bituminous Aluminium Paint is exterior steelwork, wood and concrete. Identify the actual material and its condition before selecting the preparation and finishing system. An existing coating, a newly prepared base and a repaired area can need different treatment.
- An aluminium-pigmented bituminous finish for specified exterior surfaces.
- Available quotation packs and component requirements are checked for your selected product, rather than inferred from another grade.
Before you start.
Clean the surface and remove contamination and rust. The sheet distinguishes steel, galvanised or aluminium metalwork, and dry masonry when setting out the preparation system.
For a useful specification check, share whether the surface is bare or previously treated, the name of the existing coating if known, and any visible damage or moisture exposure. Preparation products should be selected for that condition before the finishing material is applied.
Companion products to specify
The technical sheet references these materials for its preparation, thinning or coating scenarios. Confirm the scenario for your substrate.
Application and project planning.
Select the appropriate pretreatment or primer for the substrate, then follow the listed bituminous-aluminium coating sequence.
The reflective aluminium appearance does not establish a temperature rating or suitability for a different specialist aluminium paint application.
Measure the area to be treated and allow for the number of coats required by the coating system. Surface texture, absorption, application method and material losses can change the amount needed. Tell us the area and proposed system when requesting packs; the published coverage is a planning reference, not a guarantee of your project’s consumption.

Good questions, useful answers.
Is it a heat-resistant aluminium coating?
It is a bituminous aluminium paint. A heat-resistant coating requires a separately identified temperature grade and specification.
What should I include in my quotation?
Give the exact product name, requested pack size, quantity and relevant colour reference. Add the surface, application and destination so the product and delivery requirements can be checked together.
How do I choose the right pack and quantity?
Use the available pack choices and the quantity required by your coating or installation plan. Tell us the area, number of coats or relevant joint dimensions if you need help assembling a material list.
Can I confirm a colour from the product picture?
The image represents product packaging, not an exact shade match. Use a manufacturer colour reference for a coloured product, or specify that colour is not applicable for the material you need.
Keep the specification close.
Use the full manufacturer technical information when planning preparation and application. Include the exact product and system details when contacting KariVex about a quotation.
