The product, in perspective.
Crown Super Gloss is an alkyd enamel for suitably primed and undercoated decorative surfaces. It produces a glossy finish; the primer and undercoat should be chosen for the actual substrate.
A glossy alkyd enamel for a properly primed decorative coating system. A glossy finish makes preparation important. The substrate and existing coating should determine the system, rather than the gloss level alone.
Where it works.
The documented surface or use for Crown Super Gloss is prepared masonry, timber, metal and other listed substrates. Identify the actual material and its condition before selecting the preparation and finishing system. An existing coating, a newly prepared base and a repaired area can need different treatment.

- Available quotation packs and component requirements are checked for your selected product, rather than inferred from another grade.
Before you start.
Identify the surface and previous coating. New masonry, timber, metal and sound existing paint have different primer or undercoat arrangements; remove loose material and make the base sound.
For a useful specification check, share whether the surface is bare or previously treated, the name of the existing coating if known, and any visible damage or moisture exposure. Preparation products should be selected for that condition before the finishing material is applied.
Companion products to specify
The technical sheet references these materials for its preparation, thinning or coating scenarios. Confirm the scenario for your substrate.
Application and project planning.
Use the prescribed primer and undercoat where needed, followed by the Super Gloss finishing coats with its documented application method.
A glossy finish makes preparation important. The substrate and existing coating should determine the system, rather than the gloss level alone.
Measure the area to be treated and allow for the number of coats required by the coating system. Surface texture, absorption, application method and material losses can change the amount needed. Tell us the area and proposed system when requesting packs; the published coverage is a planning reference, not a guarantee of your project’s consumption.

Good questions, useful answers.
Can I paint straight over an existing coating?
That depends on its condition and chemistry. The sheet separates sound oil-based paint from emulsion and deteriorated surfaces when specifying preparation.
What should I include in my quotation?
Give the exact product name, requested pack size, quantity and relevant colour reference. Add the surface, application and destination so the product and delivery requirements can be checked together.
How do I choose the right pack and quantity?
Use the available pack choices and the quantity required by your coating or installation plan. Tell us the area, number of coats or relevant joint dimensions if you need help assembling a material list.
Can I confirm a colour from the product picture?
The image represents product packaging, not an exact shade match. Use a manufacturer colour reference for a coloured product, or specify that colour is not applicable for the material you need.
Keep the specification close.
Use the full manufacturer technical information when planning preparation and application. Include the exact product and system details when contacting KariVex about a quotation.
