The product, in perspective.
Silk Vinyl Emulsion is an acrylic-copolymer interior paint with a soft silk appearance. It is a washable decorative finish for suitable walls and other prepared interior substrates; include the shade and surface condition in your request.
A washable silk finish for prepared interior walls and living spaces. The soft sheen is part of the appearance, so preparation is especially important where light highlights an uneven surface.
Where it works.
The documented surface or use for Crown Silk Vinyl Emulsion is suitable interior plaster, masonry, boards and timber. Identify the actual material and its condition before selecting the preparation and finishing system. An existing coating, a newly prepared base and a repaired area can need different treatment.

Before you start.
Remove flaking material, clean and smooth the surface. Sound emulsion, an old oil-based coating and a weak or chalking surface need different preparation and primer choices.
For a useful specification check, share whether the surface is bare or previously treated, the name of the existing coating if known, and any visible damage or moisture exposure. Preparation products should be selected for that condition before the finishing material is applied.
Companion products to specify
The technical sheet references these materials for its preparation, thinning or coating scenarios. Confirm the scenario for your substrate.
Application and project planning.
Use the application method and water dilution allowed by the Silk Vinyl sheet. Plan the coats over the correct prepared base rather than trying to hide surface defects with extra paint.
The soft sheen is part of the appearance, so preparation is especially important where light highlights an uneven surface.
Measure the area to be treated and allow for the number of coats required by the coating system. Surface texture, absorption, application method and material losses can change the amount needed. Tell us the area and proposed system when requesting packs; the published coverage is a planning reference, not a guarantee of your project’s consumption.

Good questions, useful answers.
Do I always need a separate primer?
The sheet distinguishes the substrate and previous coating. Weak surfaces and old oil-based coatings may require preparation products that a sound emulsion-coated wall does not.
What should I include in my quotation?
Give the exact product name, requested pack size, quantity and relevant colour reference. Add the surface, application and destination so the product and delivery requirements can be checked together.
How do I choose the right pack and quantity?
Use the available pack choices and the quantity required by your coating or installation plan. Tell us the area, number of coats or relevant joint dimensions if you need help assembling a material list.
Can I confirm a colour from the product picture?
The image represents product packaging, not an exact shade match. Use a manufacturer colour reference for a coloured product, or specify that colour is not applicable for the material you need.
Keep the specification close.
Use the full manufacturer technical information when planning preparation and application. Include the exact product and system details when contacting KariVex about a quotation.
