The product, in perspective.
Crown One Pack Etch Primer is a metal-preparation primer based on modified polyvinyl butyral resin. It is used within a subsequent coating system, so include the intended primer and finish in the enquiry.
An adhesion-first primer for suitably prepared metal before the finishing coats. Heavy films can wrinkle. This is a preparation layer, not the final decorative or protective finish.
Where it works.
The documented surface or use for One Pack Etch Primer Yellow is suitable metal substrates. Identify the actual material and its condition before selecting the preparation and finishing system. An existing coating, a newly prepared base and a repaired area can need different treatment.
- An adhesion-first primer for suitably prepared metal before the finishing coats.
- Available quotation packs and component requirements are checked for your selected product, rather than inferred from another grade.
Before you start.
Degrease the metal, rinse away residue and allow it to dry. The sheet calls for sanding before priming; new galvanised iron and aluminium need their own preparation rather than the same treatment as weathered steel.
For a useful specification check, share whether the surface is bare or previously treated, the name of the existing coating if known, and any visible damage or moisture exposure. Preparation products should be selected for that condition before the finishing material is applied.
Companion products to specify
The technical sheet references these materials for its preparation, thinning or coating scenarios. Confirm the scenario for your substrate.
Application and project planning.
Apply the etch primer as a thin coat, then follow the specified intermediate primer and compatible topcoat sequence.
Heavy films can wrinkle. This is a preparation layer, not the final decorative or protective finish.
Measure the area to be treated and allow for the number of coats required by the coating system. Surface texture, absorption, application method and material losses can change the amount needed. Tell us the area and proposed system when requesting packs; the published coverage is a planning reference, not a guarantee of your project’s consumption.

Good questions, useful answers.
Does it replace the topcoat?
No. The etch primer prepares the metal for the coating system. Specify the intermediate primer and finishing paint alongside it.
What should I include in my quotation?
Give the exact product name, requested pack size, quantity and relevant colour reference. Add the surface, application and destination so the product and delivery requirements can be checked together.
How do I choose the right pack and quantity?
Use the available pack choices and the quantity required by your coating or installation plan. Tell us the area, number of coats or relevant joint dimensions if you need help assembling a material list.
Can I confirm a colour from the product picture?
The image represents product packaging, not an exact shade match. Use a manufacturer colour reference for a coloured product, or specify that colour is not applicable for the material you need.
Keep the specification close.
Use the full manufacturer technical information when planning preparation and application. Include the exact product and system details when contacting KariVex about a quotation.
